How It Works
The GentleMax Pro is a dual wavelength (both Alexandrite and YAG) laser device that allows us to precisely target the base of hair follicles. Laser energy delivered to hair while in an active growth stage, ruptures the root, causing it and its hair to die. Most people have 5-8 cycles within the 3 stages of hair growth, so 5-8 treatments are necessary to kill all existing hair. Laser Hair Removal does not prevent new hair growth.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
Laser Hair Removal can safely be done throughout the face and body. Popular areas for women typically include the underarms, bikini area, legs, and face. Men often choose to have hair removed from their back, chest, or neck. One of the great things about GentleMax Pro is its ability to quickly treat both small and large areas.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
7-10 days following your treatment, your body will push the hair out that has been treated. It will look like hair growth, but this is dead hair. You should continue to wash the area with a brush and shave the dead hair away. This will be followed by a few weeks of smooth skin with no hair growth, which we call the ‘honeymoon’ period. 4-8 weeks following your treatment (depending on the treatment area) you will see a sudden burst of new, evenly distributed dark hair growth in the area, marking the beginning of your next growth cycle. This is when you should come in for your next treatment. Each treatment area has an average of 5-8 hair growth cycles, meaning you will need up to eight Laser Hair Removal treatments to achieve desired results.
What is the Downtime?
Immediately following your treatment, you’re free to go about your normal day-to-day routine. You may notice some redness or tenderness at the treatment site similar to that of a sunburn. Any side effects should subside within 24-72 hours.
